Hello,
I would like to ask if someone knows how can I photograph people who I don't know.Maybe in the street or in the market. Is it better to ask them ?thanks

Sometimes, I point at them and then at my camera. Never had anyone say no, or indicated no. Other times I just shoot.

It probably is going to come down to your comfort level.

Recently, I was in China, and found some of them taking pictures of me, as in some areas outside the large cities they don't see many foreigners. They even came up to show me a photo they took of their families that included some of us. Smiling and pointing at the LCD.

Of course, I am a little old lady with gray hair, which may help, but carry a very large camera and lens :)

Where do you live? I guess that kind of depends on what your government sees as "invading privacy". This is an international forum, and laws regarding such things vary by country.
