to be honest, I have never shot kids in a studio (although the idea of shooting my children occurred to me many times, many places).
I don't like studio shots because there's often not much life in them. They look like a studio. In your pictures, however, the children look happy and alert and unposed .

These are 4 of my favorite 'child' shots. All taken outside of their home, they knew I was shooting but the poses were their own.

Thanks, I had the kids basically just playing with the toys and snapped when I had them looking at the camera. Most of the time they weren't looking at me but the parents were great at getting their attention so we ended up with a few good ones.

if they are older, have them pretending to sleep in beautiful clothes.

Bummer...I haven't been on here much lately and didn't catch this before your shoot. The biggest recommendation I have for shooting kids (experience I've gathered from trying to shoot my own) is to shoot wider than you normally might and expect to crop in. That way when kids suddenly move in a way you're not expecting you won't unwittingly crop off a limb (though of these only #1 and #8 - ever so slightly - cropped off body parts).

Overall a cute set, they do look relaxed. I particularly like the captures in #5 and #6.

That's a great practice session

I got some cheap backdrops from Backdrop outlet. I love their plain Diamond Cloth backdrops. They clean easy and produce great/non busy backgrounds. I have the brown, black, and white and love every picture I have shot with them.

I don't have a sample of the brown on this computer but I used it for a pre-school shoot and it worked awesome.

I guess if the kids were a little older and could take some direction this might work. These little guys were too young and just kind of running around and playing.

Great recommendation my only concern is that when your having to crop your reducing the quality because the file size ends up smaller so you have a limited size of the final reproduction.
