Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello Everyone,

I need some advice in terms of product photography and related equipment, if anyone has the time to spare it will be greatly appreciated. I am beginner, therefore unsure what equipment is required to setup for product photography.

I am based in South Africa, I sell tablet cases and sleeves, my suppliers normally provide the images but I would like to start taking my own pictures. The pictures I use at the moment are products on a white background, but I would also like to also use lifestyle images. Locally, equipment is expensive, I am in the States for few weeks and decided to buy some equipment here. I need some help in terms of choosing equipment, can anyone please suggest what I would require in terms of lighting, flash and diffusers. I had a look through the forums, but, due to my time limit, I don't have luxury to narrow it down or to get the right equipment if I buy the incorrect equipment the first time.

What I have
I bought a Canon T6 premium bundle and have 2 continuous lights and diffusers, which I had when I bought a point and shoot a few years back (unsure if the lighting accessories I have are sufficient).

Thanks in advance.

I think you should build a little white light tent, shine your continuous light on it, buy few small lamps if you need extra light, place products inside, adj exposure and WB til it looks right, momorise the settings, you don't need much

Hi,

thanks for the reply but I forgot to mention that I have a light tent. Problem I have is that the images come out too dark using the equipment that I have. So I'm hoping to get advice on whether or not I need more lighting, flashes and what models.

Thank you

If everything is to dark add +1 exposure comp. Better still go on manual mode and set if until it's bright enough. Even if light is low, a longer exposure on a tripod will sort it out, you likely don't need new gear. Equipment required for your type shots is minimal
