photoshop signatures

I am running photoshop elements 9. I had previously created a signature / logo brush for my pictures to easily stamp each of my shots. I was editing a picture the other day and changed my brush to a different one, and later tried to go back to my signature brush.

My problem is that when i go back to use the brush that i created i get a pop up error message that says "Could not load the brushes because the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop"

I don't get how this is possible seeing as how i created it what that version. I tried a re-start and updates for my laptop....no dice. Photoshop is all up to date too. I'm running a macbook pro OS X version 10.6.8

Weird.

Could you easily create it from scratch again?
If you have a photo that has the signature in a clean area, use that to create a selection and define the brush again.

I just found the initial design of it that I had done on my work computer, goona have to recreate it. oh well practice never hurts
