yesterday i had a wonderfully organized portraitworkshop (for free!) where we also had the chance to shoot with 2 different models afterwards

i only looked through some of the pictures yet, but i kinda like this one

i'm thinking about to process it with PS (already used an old curve, but it doesnt fit 100% IMO)... i thought about increasing the blur on the wheat and adapt contrast and lighting a bit

maybe i'll upload it again after postprocessing.. but what do you think about the composition? ... my idea was to let her look back into her past and maybe (that would be ideal) also evoke memories in the viewer

I generally like it - but there's a little something missing for me. Maybe if the model was a bit further out of the grass? The color on the grass is great, but I feel like the model's complexion is a little off.

The second photo I am less fond of. What a great opportunity for free models though!

thanks for the feedback .... sadly i dont have any photo with the model further out of the grass and the same facial expression, so i cant tell if i'd like it more or not

I think the blacks & contrast is way to high here. There is no detail in her clothing. Interesting shots though! Keep posting more from the workshop

yeah you're right, pretty high contrast... though i kinda like it ... but i'll try some different settings again, thanks for pointing it out

In the second set with the different model - I definitely like the less aggressive PP. The contrast is too high on the first one, and the color on her arm is grainy and noisy - pushed just a tad too far. I really like the photo itself.

i think so too, IMO the aggressive PP also destroys the mood.... dont know why i even considered it

The ones of her lying down, looks like she's dead - not a good pose at all. I'd start with learning a good foundation of posing subjects.

hm, i think dead is a bit exaggerated... but you're right that i've still alot to improve in posing models, thats one reason why i post here

The ones of her lying down, looks like she's dead - not a good pose at all. I'd start with learning a good foundation of posing subjects.

I'd recommend posting here less, and picking up some good posing books, and maybe a workshop or two. People who try and learn photography "via internet forum" rarely get any better and spend years spinning their wheels to no avail.

God, I wish YOU would post here less, dallasimagery. You really contribute almost next to nothing of value here. You just come in and chit all over the work of others, and post up pictures you've done of slutty-looking women who work in strip clubs...you seem to me to be yet another Texas blowhard...but then, your state is full of blowhards and strip club photographers...you're a cliche that represents Texas well. Why don't you offer some fricking HELP to some of the newbies here, instead of telling us how "good" you are? Why not post some helpful advice, or perhaps just STFU and decline to post your vitriol? Lately you've shown the kind of attitude that only comes from being a legend within your own mind. I find it hard to believe that you're actually a working professional photographer, based upon your poor people skills, your hostility, and your attitude of superiority among a forum populated mostly by beginning and intermediate amateur photographers. It seems like you **could** be a force for good, and an engine of growth, except that your holier than thou attitude has earned you precisely TWO "likes" in around a half a year's membership here. So, while what I have typed is merely my opinion,and thus subjective, by a purely objective measure, people here do not like you, or what you write. Seriously man...can you see where you're headed here at TPF? Why are you here? When in school, did you like to pick on underclassmen?
