Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I'm not sure how this problem came to be, but I am seeing quite a bit of difference in saturation after I send my Lightroom develops to Corel PaintShop Pro X6 for editing. At first, I thought it might have something to do with my new monitor, a ASUS PA249Q, but I don't see how it could be that. It's prob'ly just my paranoia, but it started doing this right about the time PSP X7 came out and every time I close X6 an advertisement for X7 pops up. If that's the way Corel... no, that just couldn't be it.

Maybe you can shed some light on this dilemma.

I've been threatening to go to the Adobe Photographer's plan for 10 bucks a month, but I've been waiting for LR 6. Ya think I could have this same issue with Photoshop?

Jim

LR and PSP use different editing algorithms.
LR uses a wide gamut color space for the Develop module.
What color profile/color space did you assign the file in LR?

Also with Adobe's $10 per month Photography package subscribers will get LR 6 when it becomes available for no extra charge.
In other words, there is no advantage to waiting for LR 6.

I use sRGB color space throughout. Are the algorithms the same between LR and Photoshop?

Yes, I knew that the Photography plan through Adobe would automatically update either program to the latest version. It's just that I paid the premium price for LR and PSP X6, so I thought I'd feel better if I squeezed a little more time for my money out of them. ;)

Thanks for your input.

Jim

Yes. The algorithms are the same for LR, PsE, and CC 2014, because they are all Adobe products.

For ACR (Adobe Camera Raw - used by LR Develop module, PsE Camera Raw, CC 2014 Camera Raw) there are some older Process Versions.

FWIW - Edits done in LR do not alter pixels, which is why LR is known as a parametric image editor.
LR edits are XML line commands.
PsE and CC 2014 are raster graphics image editors, though both do have features that can be used to edit images without altering pixels. Note that both PsE and CC 2014 have some limited vector graphics editing capabilities.
