Picture Quality Question

I did a simple curves adjustment, dodged the black cloak slightly to bring back the detail, and then sharpened slightly. The JPG artifacts make it hard to sharpen it much more than I did.

If the white and black points are good, like they are here, a levels adjustment to boost contrast can block up the shadows and highlights. With curves, you can boost contrast without losing data.

I appreciate the shot of Cotopaxi. I was a mountaineer in my youth and did a little climbing in Peru and Chile. I didn't climb this one but I did climb some to the South. Giant mountains are always breathtaking for me.
