Pier under Stars

[Majeed Badizadegan]

The town of Cayucos, CA, seems to be built around this lovely pier.

I made a point to shoot it a couple times in different light. This was a favorite. Ambient lamp lighting the scene and throwing the long shadows, ISO 1600, 25 seconds.

Edit: I should mention the underside of the pier is lit by a nearby beach fire. I didn't even make that connection until just a few minutes a ago. A good sized beach fire threw some awesome light to give some front light as well.

This is good the way it is. You may also want to try to make the WB really cool until the wood is kinda blue.

I messed around with the WB quite a bit. Found the spot where the sand is brown and the wood looks like wood . Why would I want it to blue?
