Pink rose - criticism appreciated

What I like about it is the shadows in the flower. It adds depth. I like the stalks on the left leading to it and I like the background colour to the pink.
I think it has focus issues. It seems I hit the focus on the left side of the flower, and it has DOF issues. That bright thing above it is perhaps a little bit distracting. Perhaps the blown areas are bad?

You have already given yourself a lot of criticism, are you sure you want more people chiming in?
- the flower seems to be facing the right side of the frame, so having the space on the left is not pleasing.
- the yellow stalks don't lead my eye to the flower. For me, they create a triangle that leads the viewer's eye off the left edge.
- Meh, for me the flower isn't a compelling image to begin with, so it needs something to make it visually interesting... dramatic light play, interesting angle etc

It seems people want the OP to say what they like / don't like, so I thought I'd do that It's hard to critic one's own photos.

And thanks for your thoughts. As a photograph it might not be much, but my mother sure wanted it to document her garden, hehe. Some good come of everything, they say. Luckily our garden is full of flowers'n stuff.
