I processed 3 tonight from my shoot, and here is one for you folks to gander at. The other two were samples of my pp and I don't really like them. This one came out well...might do a few things different, not sure yet.

I chopped out the stool and foot stool, as her husband wants me to put a bomb under her like she's sitting on it.

We shot for him mostly, he wanted certain pose types...and the winner will be printed out on canvas type material to put on his bass drum for the band he's in. :) He said he wanted vintage pinup style, so I went with a Rockwell type processing, but many of his poses were drifting away from pinup and towards the end of the night leaned towards soft porn....lol. Damn men. I was trying to remind him how vintage pinup girls posed....I even brought my laptop in to view samples on the web.

Here's the other two I don't like. The first one I didn't even do any pre pp on her eyes/face, etc. Just practiced the "vintage" processing. So these are not keepers, but I'll share anyway.
The second one I fuk'ed up on the lighting, so it doesn't even process right, I keep losing her arm. I dunno if I like the pose enough to correct the raw before I start...we'll see.

That is a very interesting process, to say the least.

:) The idea is to give them a cartoon look / painting look, and have some vintage/grain look as well. And still make them presentable. Fine line between chit and gold on this sort of thing. For me anyway. lol

I think he'll be happy. Something about her smirk and looking off camera makes you wonder what she is saluting. Love it.

Ugh, camo boots in the first one are a no-go for me buddy. I would have much preferred to see the boots in the third photo with the top in the first one. I like the pose though. Can't really comment on the processing, as I'm not a huge fan of pinups. But I am sure others with experience in that area will chime in.

#2 is pretty decent btw. I like where you were going with it.

I will be revisiting #2, I have 3 shots of that pose, all came out well enough. So I'll do it up proper tomorrow or friday.

Dude...the boots...I tried. She brought in two big ass boots and black heels. Well, actually each shot has the different types. I was trying to get those cammo boots off of her...but she loves them. What can ya do? lolol.

I would be eager to learn other methods of processign vintage pinups. This is the only detailed method I have. I follow the guideline given me by a fellow photog, and I do one by the book, and then one with my tweaks on it along the way, then compare to what I like better. The first image was done by the book, as he wrote it for me, I did not put any of my spin on it.

On number 2, I love the legs. The waist down I really like. But something bugs me about the head/shoulders/arms. I was struggling with how to pose that part of her.

Thanks. I think he'll like it as well. I have another one...well two actually, that were shot with removing seats in mind for bomb placement, so I'll give him 3 to choose from for that section of the shoot.

There will also be negative space in some for band logo placement and things like that as well. They even are going to make T-shirts from one of the images with band logo to sell/give away at gigs. Kinda cool.

She kept making angry serious faces, then naturally when not posing the real fun faces came out. Luckily I got that one on camera before she tried to look sexy and instead turned serious. lol.

She said after we were done and I was cleaning up..."man..this modeling chit is harder than I thought...way harder. I'm tired as hell and sore" lmao

Yep, #2 follows the looks you're after. I think of 1940's Pin up's when I see these, and for that, the boots on the other two don't work for me. With a little different hair style, #2 could be painted on the nose of a B-17 bomber

I nearly always love your work, Pallycow, and this batch is no exception. I'm looking forward to seeing the final versions. I suspect that you'll probably end up earning 10¢ an hour on these because you are going to spend way too much time working towards perfection. You're a photographic artist as opposed to being a technician. :headbang:

Photographic BACON! YES!

Nice Images, Pally... interesting work! #1 rocks....

Too much processing for me. Screaming fakeness. She doesn't need that much to get the look.
