I like the shot in general, but I think that the white point is a little distracting. It looks like it's just barely gray, which would be great if the black point were barely off also, but as it is the black seems like a true black.

I think I would like it more if the black point were brought down ever so slightly, or the white point were brought up to true white.

Just a few thoughts. I think this would look especially well with some antique processes applied to it.

Brilliant photo with good balance on the background, but as said before maybe a bit more tonal range?
so alteration to the white point i think?

The black and white points can be adjusted using the curves settings in Photoshop. I explained how to do it here. Although that's a lot more intense than what I was thinking for this photo.
