playing with speedlights

took these outside the dorm the other day, just playing with combination of ringlight and off camera speedlight, or both off camera. etc.

just for fun.

I too think the 1st is the best can you explain what a speedlight is?

its just a flash unit, nikons sb-800 speedlight. it was dark out, and i just had a friend hold it off to the side some.

i'm reposting here, bc it has occured (how do you spell that?) to me that its not just a flash unit, but a flash unit with the fp function? and they started calling them speedlights since they could sync with faster shutter speeds? can someone varify that? or does someone else know exactly where the term speedlight camre from?
