Please critique my photo

Just signed up to the forum, seems like a cool place.

I'm just getting in to photography and would appreciate a critique on this photo I took. The blues turned out a little too purple after I scanned it, in the original the sky is more of a truer blue, but I didn't bother touching it up in Photoshop to correct it. Thanks

Comments per req:

First off, the phrase "I didn't bother touching it up" is not appropriate. The 'touching up' a scanned negative or digital image is just as important as is/was the darkroom process. No image is the best it can be right out of the camera, therefore, what you are posting is really an imcomplete project.

That aside however, on to the image. While it's definitely not the most exciting photograph I've seen, It's not bad. I suspect with the magenta caste corrected, and excluding [what I assume are] the marks from the scanner, the exposure and colours seem fine, and the composition is good in that you've used intersecting diagonal lines to bring the eye more or less to the middle of the image.

What were your thoughts when taking the image? What did you want to show?

This looks like you took a picture of a fairly badly mangled print...?

It's called a polaroid. It was shot with a Polaroid EE100 Special Edition camera with 667 pack film. The white spots are actually parts that were pulled up when the photo's negative side was seperated from the emulsion layer.

You guys are kinda mean, but yeah....I always do touch ups on my negatives. Usually doing contrast and levels. Also, yeah....I had a photo that came out like that with that magenta color. I touched it up in photoshop and it came out great. I think making the sky an actual blue would make the picture pop more and look more natural.
