Your composition is perfect. I agree with the others though, the lighting is just too harsh. If it's someplace near you, I'd go back and photog it when the sun isn't so high in the sky.

This is a scan from a print a few years ago. The original enlargement looks great and not harsh at all. Thanks for your comments. I really wish I could get a better exposure from the scan.

i don't think it looks harsh at all... 'vibrant' is the word i would use.
I like it.

This is by far my favorite type of composition when viewing floral images - the "worm's eye view", so to speak. I absolutely love it. I am willing to concede the scanner didn't help you much here - that's kind of the automatic disclaimer I try to give to any image I see onscreen. Scanner quality varies, as do monitors viewing the scans. I've really hated some of my images onscreen, what the scanning or resizing has done to them, so I feel your pain.
