I believe you can eat the greens when they are young, but I wouldn't partake.
If you can figure out how to stabilize it from the sun, they are supposed to make a nice purple-brown ink.
And the Piscataway tribe of Southern Maryland ate skunks, back in the day -- no thanks.Apparently, some American Indian tribes in the southwest used them to treat several types of ailments.I believe you can eat the greens when they are young, but I wouldn't partake.
