Hi I just bought a polarizer for my srt 101 and I was wondering if my light meter picks up the effects of the polarizer or if I have to compensate for it myself?
The meter reads though the lens, so you don't need to compensate anything. That's why the DOF preview affects the meter (as well as the darkness of the scene)
Try this: put the filter on the lens (attached to the camera body) and point it at a bright spot (not directly into the sun.)
Look at the meter as you rotate the filter. You should see the scene darken or lighten, and the meter should change accordingly.
