Came across this at photojojo.com (cool site) and thought it might be useful. i don't have money for an external flash and this is only $30. i know you generally get what you pay for but im getting virtually no use out of my on camera flash... thoughts? anyone use something like this?

Pop-up Flash Bounce

interesting, But it doesnt do TTL nor ETTL so that means i need to trigger it manually right?

You need to set the power manually. However, if you bounce your pop-up flash, its power will still be calculated for direct flash, so that it is not sure that exposure is really correct (that is, you have to compensate).
With some more expense you could buy a 465, which does TTL too.

TTL does have its convenience but a manual flash will help teach you how to use a flash. You are going to lose power when you bounce a flash or obstruct its light in any way. If you're still interested in using your pop up flash take a look at Lumiquest as they have a diffuser for pop ups but again you'll lose light output.

TTL really is overrated to people just getting into the flash game.
Manual Flash is incredibly easy, it just takes a little while of playing around to figure out.
Within a week you'll be able to judge what power to put it on, and with digital photos, if you think wrong, you can just go and change the power.
Its not as scary as it seems =)
