Portable Portrait ligting kit

I'm looking for a portable lighting kit that I can carry with me for portrait work.

I would like to stay under 500.00 for the entire light kit. any suggestions?

I would use a Nikon SB-800 with the creative lighting system. It works great. You need the SU-800 w/ a SB-800 to pull it off.

The biggest question is do you want Manual or TTL? TTL generally = more expensive. Plus are you shooting inside where power outlets won't be a problem?
