Portfolio question

i just received a message from another editor. Shes asking for my portfolio. What should i do? What photos will i include in my folio? i have posted a photo yesterday.... will i include this?

any suggestion? i am mostly having practice with events and don't have much of portraiture

i am freaking out now because i will only have till 15 of May to give it to them.

Am i ready for it? i need advices Click Here for my events photographs. I need some comments on it its the 4th time i received an offer.

I'm not a professional, but why would they be contacting you? Did you contact them? If so why now to get your port together. If they contacted you, pick your best shots and go for it, they must see something in you. I would imagine selecting your port images is part of you showing you have the eye and expectations with your shots. I'm sure some of the more experienced photogswill help you out here. I believe the one you posted yesterday is fine. Good Luck.

i never contacted anyone yet because i am not that confident with my shoots but its already the 4th time i have an offer. I think i should go for it now before no one will get me. I have ask friends to help me but no one have given a hand yet. Its really hard here, everybody thinks of competition but for me its just an hobby i never think of having offers like this

. I am now confused of what to do first

Pick out your best shots, maybe ten or so. I've never done a portfolio but they are not much different than a resume'. Keep it sweet and simple. Have it both in hard copy and online if possible. Maybe a brief history on yourself your plans and your techniques. They must see promise in you, that's a big first step. :thumbup:

Thanks i am having a lot of encouragement and appreciation but i haven't seen anything special of what i do yet. I think we have different eyes and standards. Its now a big deal for me to be appreciated it means there is something and i am getting so addicted now to do better on my next practice shoots. I want to be confident now but stay humble. (got an opinion even how hard a person tries to be humble here there's always detractors and i am so weak with issues

)

I go for it and try my best and will ready my emotions too ^^

What job have they contacted you for, or for what purpose do they want to see your portfolio? You said the editor contacted you--I'm guessing this is a fashion magazine of some sorts? Just trying to clarify.

a fashion magazine (They are looking for a freelance for events and fashion shoots), actually its the PR of that publishing that send the mail and said the editor wants to see my folio because they need additional freelance photog

Since you are saying this is for fashion I would try to create a portfolio of 10-12 images exemplifying your skills as a fashion photographer. Try not to repeat models more than once, and also try to keep similar color theme photos closer. This will just get you by for this time but in the future you should take several months and really plan out your portfolio.

Its really hard when rushing things. I hope i can get it good
