I know as far as compositional standpoint there super duper simple, but I'f someone would give me critique as far as exposure goes. I feel as if I'm starting to get somewhat better for the little amount I get to shoot, but a push in the right direction would help alot.

I would say exposure is fine in the first two, the last one seems a bit underexposed. BUT, I think it's due to the shadows caused by his hat. Overall a dark picture though.

The overall exposures aren't bad. Try and get some more light into the eyes, and ideally try and get a catchlight into them. A reflector, even one as simple as a white card will work well for this. As an aside, 'up the nose' shots (#3) are rarely flattering to anyone!

Thanks guys,

For traditional portraiture, camera position should be even with or slightly above the eyes. Variances are employed for dramatic effect, by I suspect that not to be the case here. Where is your camera position in relationship to your subject?

Also, you missed a bit under his right arm in #2.

^ Thanks for the tip, I'm all over the place as far as positioning.

And yea, I just noticed that.
