His hair is wacky from his nap. How is the lighting and comp? I wish I hadn't chopped off his hair. Does the shadow on the wall to the left bother you? What would you do differently?

If you had shot it vertically.. and not cut his hair off, it would be much better! Cute shot!

Lighting is nice.. could be a hair brighter on camera right.. but not bad.

I agree. I think my camera settings could have helped this. I am also looking into buying another speedlite. Thanks for the feedback!

I hope you don't mind. I tried a few different edits. See if you like them. For me the original photo is a bit too dark. I am not an expert either, just started a month a go doing edits as such... but here we go...

Coulda used an off camera flash to camera right to kill those shadows a bit. But if you didn't have one, and no reflectors..you did best with what you have.

This is VERY nice. I think the best will be somewhere between your original post and the very nice edits Janineh offered.

Some creative framing will really finish this.

I use photoshop elements for editing. I've got a heap lot of actions from paint the moon... They do wonders!

Very cute.. Personally, I like the landscape orientation and the negative space.. Why do all portraits have to be in portrait orientation? I say, mix it up!!
