Hello. I'm curious as to what lens will be the "best" for portraits. I've just invested in a Nikon d300s and an 18-55mm VR f3.5/5.6 lens (yeah its just a standard little kit lens, but its just for starters). I'm also looking to invest in a 50mm f1.8 and a 70-300mm VR f4.5/5.6.

As for my subject matter, I do portraits, landscapes, macros, pretty much a little bit of everything. I'm starting to get into weddings, and would like to have lenses that will perform wonderfully in low light/indoors.

What other portrait style lenses would you recommend?

Nikon's 85mm 1.8 AF-D does wonderfully in low light and indoors. So does the 70-200 f/2.8 VR. At normal, indoor distances, a crop-body requires a pretty short wide-angle lens, like the 17-55 f/2.8 DX Nikkor, in order to get wide-angle and normal length angles of view. The Nikkor 17-55 DX has awful bokeh on people-type backgrounds (foliage, hedges, trees, etc).
