Hi there!


I'm not an expert but do allow me to share my thoughts!

I love the colour combination in the 1st image. Blue and green are nice complimentary colours.

It's a pity the green background of the treeline doesn't extend all the way to the right. That white space in the back seems a little jarring and sudden.

Also, the shoes, which are of a very similar tone to the skin look sort out of place and a little distracting as is kinda merges with the legs.

But nice pose and expression.

If you look at this at full res, the lighting issues that dominate this photo become obvious.

The overhead sun has blown out all the top surfaces and given her deeply shadowed eye sockets.
The color look is trendy but you ought to maximize her attractiveness before adding a 'look'.

There's nothing wrong with a portrait done in landscape aspect but the excess space needs to add something.
There is a lot of wasted space here that doesn't add to the impact, in fact I think it detracts.
Why not a portrait shot for a portrait?

I agree with Lew on the second one. Portrait orientation. Works much better here and in most cases for portraits. Although on both landscape and portrait orientations the way she is angled and how her dress is makes her look much wider than I think she actually is.
