getting things in focus seems rare too.

It's a rail yard and he seems dressed for a yacht club, kinda not working for me. If subject stance/pose is not working move in and take that headshot. No a portrait is not a head shot only.

Shoot well and thanks for sharing , Joe

I feel ya on the clothing part. the "ONLY headshots" was sarcasm.

Don't know why you choose to dismiss helpful advice with sarcasm though.

Also +1 on moving in closer; the background is way too distracting to work for a full length.
And the white shirt may be blown out. (not completely sure due too my monitor being uncalibrated)

If you click on the bar to view it at the original size, you can see that it is in focus. The resize makes the photo look very soft. Out of focus was my first thought, also.

I think it is in focus, and I think a full body is fine, I also think his outfit is fine....

What I wish was he was pulled further from the train, so it was more out of focus/blurred.... then the attention could have been on him and not the train getting ready to run him down.

Next time...get closer.

Oh, I forgot. Portraits are ONLY headshots....
I didn't say do a head shot. I said get closer. I can't help that you don't get it.

You don't allow anyone to edit your poorly made photos, so I couldn't illustrate how to improve the photo by getting closer.

You need to crop closer. And try to preserve some of the detail in the highlights, as they seem blown.
