I'm still very new to shooting outside of a studio, any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

The second one doesn't really grab my attention, but that first one? Here's my suggestion: How 'bout YOU give ME tips on shooting?

Lovin the first one...it's simple, but very well done. His eyes really grab you!

Good stuff. In the second one you look like Adrian Grenier from Entourage (Vinny!)

First one is great, good light, good contrast between the hair and the skin.

The second one is a bit dull, there doesn't seem to be any real context of why he's there, the pose is a little flat and you've cropped him at the knee on the back leg which makes it look a little more awkward.
