Post Editing a Photo

I recently weaned a fellow photographer off of crazy HDRing.

There's should be some sort of Noble peace prize for this...

I don't like to sit still. I hate editing. I would rather do as much as I can in camera so I can drink more wine instead of editing. Did I mention that I hate editing?

I feel your pain Kathy. I have about 2,000 photos of the Smithsonian Museum of Science and History to edit and I'm off to DC again next month because those 2,000 photos only covered a part of the first floor!! Then there's all those other museums in DC.

well, at least none of them are tall...

Note that many of your portrait shots have this butterfly-shaped light area over the cheekbones and the top of the nose.
This is because you are shooting when the light is high overhead and the sun is illuminating those areas and not the cheeks, etc.

Pick better times, use a diffuser for the sunlight or a reflector for fill.

I make it look good, not fake, then I'm done.

I rarely edit unless there is a lighting issue you or minor touch ups are needed. I like to keep my shot as real as possible.
