Posting Meme Pics

Now let me get this straight (don't worry, I know where the lime goes), if I were to post a reply in any given thread, then some subsequent poster quoted me and showed me the errors of my ways and then I quoted their reply with THIS IMAGE, (which I have done many times because I have a propensity to type stoopid things at times)I have violated these TPF rules with regard to copyright infringement? If so, that seems pretty intense to me. It's meant to get a laugh. I think of it as an emoticon on steriods.

Where's the harm?

I think the real problem here is essentially the umpire problem.

KMH made a bad call. That call not only was wrong but it, by precedent, tightened up a rule that was previously handled somewhat more loosely.

What's worse is we called TPF on it. Since this is the umpire situation, KMH couldn't back off to begin with and now he REALLY can't, because then any ruling they make would be considered paper thin and easily overridden by enough members complaining. Basically... Chaos.

So in the end it doesn't matter how bad it is, it's going to stay this way at least long enough so that they can soften the rule as an arguably "unrelated event".

In the meantime one of the more common methods of Internet humor has been removed from our "toolbox" (toy box?)

What if I Take a picture of a picture of a meme...

I dont think its fair to say that KMH made a "bad call". he made an obviously unpopular call, but he followed TPF protocols. this may not be an accurate analogy, but in my job, our protocols are the law, and failure to follow them can result in bad things happening. patients can be hurt, or die, and we are held responsible. Violating protocol as a Paramedic can (and often does) result in more than just a few days off. I may not agree with the decision, but I respect protocols, and KMH for following them.

The problem is that your protocols are strict for a reason, like you said... to save live! This particular TPF protocol has never been enforced to this degree, and enforcement was left up to the Mod's discretion. Meme's have never really been a issue... and no one has ever been banned for posting a meme that I know of, even posting two of them.

If it was just the protocol.. that would be one thing! But with the history of rather obvious dislike between KMH, and Robin... one has to wonder if that had something to do with it. AND THAT SETS A NASTY PRECEDENCE!

Gipson should be banned for misusing a comma.

speaking of punctuation, you must be on your "period" again! Cranky!! lolololololol!!!! ;)

LOL. I'm done being cranky. I'll just let my son's room take over the entire friggin' house. Let the soda cans pile up under the couch. Let the car die - just as it did thursday coming down off the Beartooth Highway after loosing my alternator belt at the summit.

SEE IF I FRIGGIN' CARE!

Though, on the bright side, with no power steering or power brakes, descending from about 7,000 feet was pretty exciting!
