Practicing at night with my new flashes :)

These were shot in my back yard at 11:30 pm, I could have just used my strobes but my husband doesn't like getting his picture taken so I used practicing as an excuse lol. He gave me a 10 minute time limit, if he didn't I would have grabbed my strobes and went to town! I had a hard time with shadows so next time I'll practice with more flashes and see if I can get rid of them that way... Anywho C&C would be much appreciated! Please don't mind his expression, he was not happy to be outside, I couldn't even get him to laugh!

Certainly not on the first one. Shadows are our friends. We must love them and rub them and make them out friends.

Please don't mind his expression, he was not happy to be outside, I couldn't even get him to laugh!

Oh, that's just not on...... May I suggest another.... more readily pleasing, err, I mean more affable model?

How many flashes being used?

I was using a 300w, full power, strobe with soft box about 12 feet up camera right (on my deck lol) and a Yn460-ii 1/2 power, camera left about 45 degrees.

I'm still weird about shadows. You can't see his right arm at all! I guess I just felt limited, I'll have to find a model and do some trade for's
