They are wonderful shots. Nice lighting and composition. Love 1 and 6 most.

Agreed on the lighting and compositions. I like the clean background separation on all of them (except perhaps #7). I prefer #2 to #1 because of the way the mantis' head is turned, subtly glancing at us. I like the heroic sort of pose in #4. Can't quite put my finger on the character of the pose in #5, but I'm very fond of that too! #6 really stands out to me as telling a story, and that's my favourite of the lot. The droplets of water in #7 (particularly on the little loop the antennae are forming) make for an interesting image. I feel parts of it get lost in the background though.

Just my opinions:

Lighting is pretty flat making them look 2-D. Seems to be a little blue cast causing images to be quite cold. I think the sharpness may be a bit high (appears to be ringing around the antlers, etc.). Composition, focus point and DOF are good. Subject scale is good as well.
