Probably my best photo ever

[Hoppy]

Took this today at the Hawk Concervansy Trust in Hampshire.
Its a Gyrfalcon, the one bird of prey I have always wanted to see but never had until today. I got this shot plus many others of this beautiful bird.
I'm SOOOOO happy with the result. I have done no after shot work on it at all.

I have used a shallow DOF on purpose to keep only the eye and beak in focus. I wanted the body to be soft

no dont do b&w its almost there anyway,only colours is in its beak and eye,i like it a lot though sepia might be good

I agree with you that the little bit of colour is just enough. I'm glad you like

I think I got around 20 or so shots of this one from various angles.
The contrst of the colours was just amazing, I didn't have to do much
