Problem viewing images

I am having a scarry issue with my Fujifilm S8100fd, it is freezing on an image when I am surfing through them, what is wrong here?

Also should I remove my batteries when I am not using my camera?

Batteries? Probably completely unrelated. Maybe dying memory card.

Thanks for the answers. SHould I discard this card after I place my images on CD? I have been trying to keep my images on the the SD card, using the card only once, as a way a way of insuring I own the master copy of the pictures, but can I just copy my images onto CDROM and call that my master copy of the images?
