Processing a file for event photography

I have been doing events for a guy I know, I shoot it and give him the files, he processes them and hands it over for his client.
Now I got my own gig, I will shoot it and process the files.
I never processed pictures for event for a client, I always process them for myself and so I have a question to the people here who work in events........................

When you process the pictures what size picture do you process it in ?
I always crop the picture for my liking but since I never print them I never bother have it in any specific size in my Lightroom. (4x6 or 8x10 or 4x3 or 16x10 or maybe other size ?)

Your feedback will be helpful ad greatly appreciated.

When I shot events I shot on medium jpg and cropped 8x10 because that's what I was printing with my dye sub printer I never gave files to the event organiser I went for free and made it on mounted prints on the day people could have a print in their hands about 10 minutes after I shot it

It depends on what is wanted. The last dozen or so big events I've done, there have been no print sales to the organizers, it's been digital files only, for on-line use, and I crop for best aesthetic. If they want files for print or standard size, then I give them those. It's like any other client work; you ask the person paying the bills what he wants and provide it.
