All images were shot on my glass dining room table, light off, high aperture, fast shutter. No black box or paper was used in the making of these shots either, black was created with settings in camera and slight burning in PS. :)

Dang..... nice shoes. You need a non transparant reflective surface so you dont see double reflection. Other than that I like it.

It could be my monitor, but I think that they are a little dark. Especially the second one - the front of the shoe is nicely lit, but the fall off is tremendous and by the time you get to the back (heel) of the shoe you are struggling to see the design. There is no separation between the black parts of the shoe and the black background.

However, these are a great start! I like the way you actually moved the shoes around and showed different angles, and the different parts.

good lighting and product composure, but I would suggest a "kicker" light so that the edges of the shoe/s are defined against the dark background. This light should be placed behind the shoes, either at a 9 or 3 o'clock position and fitted with a fairly tight grid - it works much like a hair light for products.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions y'all. I wish I had a kicker light but was stuck with using a small reflector to get some light onto the backs. I didn't even think of a light at 3 o'clock behind the subject, awesome idea:)

Anyone else have input or comments on the images?

btw Schwetty, thanks for the glass idea, I was wondering why I was getting dual reflections. It was a very impromptu shot, wanted a reflection, and used my dining room table for a quick reflection lol.
