Dear colleagues,

I am writing with a problem.
I am in the business of selling car parts, the IT system forces the photo to be taken using an app on an android phone, which is automatically transferred via WiFi to the computer.

Unfortunately, I repeatedly have the problem that the photos are pale, have a grey background or are not of high quality.

I have a studio with softbox lighting and a white background made of plastic board.

I would like to kindly ask if there is a chance to improve the quality of the photos?
Maybe some sort of filter overlay on my phone's camera or other solution will produce better photos?

Thank you very much for any help.

What phone are you using? Maybe put it on a tripod and shoot in HDR mode? Possibly add some low angle spot lighting to bring out some detail across the surfaces. If most of your parts are gray/black maybe use a colored background, light pastel blue or such.

Light backgrounds are forcing underexposure of the parts. Simply put, the phone is exposing for the background--not the part. Think it wise to include any/all part# in the same or in an accompanying shot.
I buy from a Canadian VAG parts house that occasionally mixes part photo and part#. Just causes delays in refunds. restocks, reorders. No fun!
