It's pretty interesting - nice lighting and a little mystery as to what's inside and what we're looking at. I'd crop the top just enough to remove the light. It will still be obvious where the light comes from and the fixture itself is not that interesting. If you could bring up just a bit more detail at the bottom of the window that might be good, but if not it's still a good image.

Crop off the fixture from the top and the harshest part of the light-- I don't so much care about adding detail at the bottom, though it would lend a little balance, perhaps--but if you can't do that, then I'd try cropping a bit from the bottom and sides as well, bring the window a little "closer" to us in the frame.

Only other thing I don't like isn't something you had any control over--I don't care for the dark (plant, maybe?) object in the room that falls right behind the person's face. But like I said, not like you could go ask them to move that before you took the shot, huh?

Better? I don't know...I loved the idea of a window put there in the middle of nothing. I was even tempted to keep the horizonta crop...

I like it a lot. I love the mystery of looking in sort of and wondering about the life in there
I get what you mean about the dark around it and then having the window in the middle light up and I think I might actually like it better too that way....

To decide on the crop, I think you should decide first what you want the picture to be about. Is the subject the lone window in a large space or what is seen through the window? I think cropping very close like this makes the picture about looking into the window. A wider horizontal crop makes it a different picture - it's about seeing the window itself, not just through it. Sure, we can still see a little of what's inside, but it's more about maybe a solitary moment in a larger context.

I'd love to see the horizontal crop, just out of curiosity.

Probably something like this (I don't remember exacty all the steps I did, so probably tones and contrast are quite different). I still prefer the vertical one. Paired with the window coming out from dark bottom and upper light help guiding the eye towars the vertical and helps tridimensionality.

PS: as I processed that I realized the interesting part (for me) is not the window, but the texture hitten by light above the window. That is the final destination. Window is just the travel (of the eye, I mean).
