This may be a dumb question but I was wondering if there is a way to get you camera gear appraised to protect yourself against theft? I can't imagine spending thousands and having it stolen without having some kind of insurance to cover it.

As far as appraisals, I bought all my stuff off of ebay, so no receipts. To determine the insurance value for replacement, my agent just got on Amazon and looked everything up....
