A new lifer and the first ever recorded sighting in our county.....all thanks to Jr.
He saw it and got the ID all while I was oblivious, looking around at the pretty birdies. lol
Last record of this bird anywhere near us was about 1972 so a neat find.

I really hope Jr can get a job in ornithology. He's a natural! Congrats to both of you.

Thank you.

I really hope Jr can get a job in ornithology.

You're the second person in as many days to mention this. I agree. I think he would be well suited for it.

You sure that's not just a peep someone stapled to a branch?

Well spotted!

After 47 years!
OMG, That's a big thing! The bird is so cute, and you have captured it awesomely.

Thank you.

[Flying Panda]

Was the sun rising or setting? The exposure is perfect. I like how you captured the light without washing out the texture on the feathers!

Thank you.

It was setting, about an hour to sunset.

Lovely shot! I think it's wonderful that they are re- introducing themselves to your area, at least enough to allow sightings like this. Love the shot as well as the incident! Kudos to Jr!

Thank you.

Great shot and nice to see species coming back ... though I suspect the PC's will let someone pave over that space for a small feee (OK, I apologize for the political statement that is against forum rules, but it is something that directly affects us photographers and everyone who respects our planet).

Nice!

Where’s its gavel?
