A new lifer and the first ever recorded sighting in our county.....all thanks to Jr.
He saw it and got the ID all while I was oblivious, looking around at the pretty birdies. lol
Last record of this bird anywhere near us was about 1972 so a neat find.

OMG, That's a big thing! The bird is so cute, and you have captured it awesomely. :)
 
Was the sun rising or setting? The exposure is perfect. I like how you captured the light without washing out the texture on the feathers!
 
Lovely shot! I think it's wonderful that they are re- introducing themselves to your area, at least enough to allow sightings like this. Love the shot as well as the incident! :) Kudos to Jr!
 
Great shot and nice to see species coming back ... though I suspect the PC's will let someone pave over that space for a small feee (OK, I apologize for the political statement that is against forum rules, but it is something that directly affects us photographers and everyone who respects our planet).
