Proud to be Prairie

I wasn't too happy with my processing of this one (and am not sure if I am now), but I've received pretty good feedback on this image elsewhere. I'm curious as to what y'all think.

The story: "Proud to be Prairie" is the slogan of a lovely little Manitoban town of 250, located about 30 km from where this shot was taken, called Plumas. Besides a kick-ass slogan, Plumas has a website and a Wikipedia page that would make bigger towns (and some cities) blush.

Did I mention that I love the slogan? I was born in a megalopolis far away, but today I'm proud to be prairie.

Believe it or not, those are sunken telephone poles... (I wouldn't have known it hadn't my buddy explained that to me... I initially thought they were something related to farming!).

I was born and raised in ----------, How I miss the prairies! The -----------! I am definitely going to settle in the Prairies.

I would adjust the colour sliders (in bw) as to bring the wooden posts / fence out more, making them darker.

The prairies are the type of environment that you don't care much for if you grow up in them, but I can see how you'd pine for them if you leave

Spot-on comment. Like I said, I wasn't happy with the processing and one of the main reasons is the lack of contrast. Your suggestion would be a step in the right direction. Thanks.
