I dunno, doesn't really do much for me as a picture. Its a pile of pumpkins centered in the image. Maybe a different angle or singling one of the more peculiar pumpkins? Technically speaking it looks good. Nice and crisp DOF and focus. Good colors too. I actually think this is a fine example of the good uses for kit lenses. The colors are nice and the focus is sharp. What were the conditions like when you took this out of curiousity?

Good exposure, good colour (I'm a huge fan of Orange). A my fellow forum users suggested above, the composition could have been worked a little more.

With that said I've never seen a pile of pumpkins in a hay pit before
