It's all practice every day I go out. An opportunity arises, I'll take it especially when it's something that needs some practice.

The background is blurry enough to almost disregard. Neat effect.

No reason really. Didn't crop this one at all actually.
Shut me up if you know this already...but exposing for such white bird you underexpose. Then a tiny lift. Well, that is how I do it...so anything else may be a bit darker.

Did not know, I do not do wildlife photography. Makes me wonder now about some "ghost" costumes my kids wore at Halloween years ago if this technique would have helped.

You could always ask them to dress up again.
 
That would be fun. However the older kids are in their 20s now.
