I got one for a decent price. It seems to work on my XTi no problem, however. It does not work on my XSi mount. The external flash should be compatible with the XSI right?

If not, what am I doing wrong?

I'm pretty sure there is no difference between the hot-shoes on those cameras.

It may just be that one is tighter/looser than the other, making it harder to mount it correctly.

the flash goes off on the XTi, but no response on the XSi. I'm reading about voltage trigger and differences in those with the two mounts? Am I doing it wrong? lol. I'm just sort of frustrated I cant get it to work on the XSi. I'd use the XTi for now, but it's gone on ebay :[

would really appreciate it anyone could provide any insight/solve this problem for me. having a flash but not being able to use it sucks lol.

The problem may not be the flash but the hot shoe on the XSi. Do you know anyone else with a XSi you can test that flash on?

It works fine on the XTi body. but they seem to have the same hotshoe

What I meant was the hot shoe on your XSi might be defective. If you tested the flash on another XSi and it worked then you know the hot shoe on your XSi is probably broken.
