Photos OK to edit
Okay, so this first in one is me attempting (and failing) At bokeh
So i searched bokeh in flickr and every picture has a focused subject
so... this means i did this all wrong?
I know this one is really bad so no C&C is needed
But do i have the right concept?

The top would be OK if you had a main subject buy you know that. Now the second isnt working well because you are dealing with a very light area and an really dark area. Bokeh can be thought of as pleasing or distracting, bood Bokeh is like having a good backround for portraits. As is important for any shot is also the backround, it should never overpower the main image itself, so as usual watch what you are shooting against.

Bokeh is a lens property, not just a blurred background.

Bokeh is an esthetic quality of the blur, not the blur itself.

I Hear photographers talking about an image having a shallow depth of field and calling it Bokeh. That is NOT Bokeh, that is just a shallow depth of field. Bokeh is a descriptor used to describe the QUALITY of the out of Focus areas of an image. And is used to describe the quality of a lens. "That lens has a very smooth and creamy Bokeh" But you cannot use it as: "I decreased my aperture to give the image more Bokeh"
