I have a question, would a Canon Eos Rebel G SLR lens work on a Canon Eos Rebel DSLR?

Yes.

EOS. It stands for Electro-Optical System.

Canon introduced the EF-mount, and the EOS system in 1987. The EF-mount made obsolete the FD-mount that preceeded it.
Before the FD-mount Canon had the FL-mount, and before that the R-mount.

In the same time frame Nikon has had, and still has, just one mount, - the F-mount.
