Hi,

I was told to purchase a silver lined umbrella for what my needs were.

I was searching on B&H for them but they didnt seem to have them. I was wondering if it was under a different name or what not. All I really saw was silver umbrellas with black backings and just plain silver umbrellas.

Please help me out thanks.

I am basically going to be shooting indoors of clothes either laying flat on the floor or hanging on the wall.

thanks

When it comes light modifiers...bigger means softer, which is usually better...but it may not be a big issue for you. I think an average size (36-42") should work fine for you.

do I need 1 or 2 umbrellas to control the light if I am just shooting shirts?

That's really up to you...but if I was shooting clothes, I might use at least two lights, both with umbrellas (or softboxes) so that the light is mostly soft & even. That being said, if you want to show the texture of the material, you might want to have a light without an umbrella, making it 'hard'.

If you are trying to figure this out from scratch, there will probably be a fair bit of experimentation...so you will need to find out what works for you.
