question on purchasing new DSLR....help

What's up everyone? I am going to be purchasing a new Pentax K-x within the next day or so. The only reason I haven't purchased it yet is I have been looking on amazon.com and ebay and they have many different setups that you can purchase. As a beginner into the dslr world I don't wanna over do it if it's not necessary. I wanna make sure I get the use out of it. Do you think it is worth it for me to purchase an extra lens with the camera. More specifically it will come with an additional 55-200mm lens. Is this going to benefit me NOW or am I better off getting use to the camera first with the 18-55 lens and purchase it later?? I hope you guys and girls can help me out. I would really appreciate it.
