So, going back to my questions: how did you find out what you like to shoot?

I like to learn things/skills that I don't currently have.
I've shot many different things over the years and in many countries but wildlife was something I hadn't though I would be interested in.
Until my daughter and son wanted to go out and see the turtles and beavers in our local wetland. I got bored, brought my camera and my wallet has never looked the same since.
I loved the practice it took to get a good stance to remain steady enough. I already had the hand eye coordination and natural aim from instinctive shooting that translated well to longer lenses which enabled me to get subjects into frame quickly. Since then I haven't looked back.

I still shoot other things but it's a rare occasion that I'm spotted without some large chunk of glass in my hands.

I like pictures. If I see a good picture, I photograph it. Tends to be landscape or architecture although wildlife is becoming more common but no real genre.

I take pictures of anything that sparks my interest. Doesn't matter what it is, if I see a potential composition or moment, I'm going to take it. But I often take pictures of nature because I'm surrounded by it everyday so its almost second nature, no pun intended.

I found out I like shooting nature/wildlife by noticing my long lens was the one lens I just can't leave in the bag. Lately I have taken to carrying my Lensbaby in my hand while out on a walk, but the long one is attached to the camera.
