Just wondering if anyone here has used or perused them. I see the ads here, and I just can't believe D90s for $50.

The site looks like a real way to make money for the people running it...it looks like it's one small step above a scam, to me. I mean, cripes, I PAY THEM 60 cents each and every time that I MAKE A BID???? WTF??? Sorry, but I think that this is a site that caters to people who are basically, compulsive gamblers, and who crave "action". And I mean that in all sincerity. If one is stupid enough to be willing to pay 60 cents for each bid entered on a site like this, I feel very sorry for them.

It can be effective if you plan to buy it either way. They have a price on each item. Every bid you pay for lowers that price (by the cost of the bid). If you don't win (and you usually don't) you can still buy it for that lowered price. If it starts around retail it ends in a wash.... If you don't factor in the time that you've wasted

All of this is pretty much what I figured. I'd never actually looked into it, so I didn't realize it was "pay to play". No thanks.

You are not going to get deals like you see in the ads. It's a business plan where Quibids is the auctioner and the seller. You pay to buy bids, which you use to purchase the item. By time you 'win' you have spent enough to buy the item anyways. If you 'loose' and you spent $200 in bids to purchase a $700 camera, you are given the option to pay the additional $500 to buy the camera or walk away $200 in the hole.

I read that if you place bids at some wee hour when there's fewer people online to bid against you, it will work out well. Of course, there is no wee hour on the internet.

You just gave me an idea.. Place a small bids on everything I want and then get some hackers like Anonymous (recently arrested) to DDOS the server until after the auction is over.
