Quick Nikon Warranty Question

I'm looking at buying a new 70-300 VR lens off someone who just received it from Adorama a few days ago. He has the original receipt (in his name), and blank warranty card still.

Would i have any trouble down the road if there is a warranty issue?

What would be the best way to fill out the warranty card? His name to match the original receipt, or my name?
