The barn swallow with the micro droplets on its feathers and the rain coming down is a wonderful, sensitive bird image, really a wonderfully different and refreshing shot.

Very nice. Really like 1. I'm starting to see more glossy ibis down here in Maryland, shot some on Sunday. Will be posting them soon

Very nice images! The barn swallow is one of the best bird shots I've ever seen.

My goodness - stunning images

Thanks everyone!

Keep an eye out for banded ones. I didn't realize that anyone banded them until 2 weeks ago when I photographed #049.. Turns out NYC Audubon keeps track of them...

Good grief, Kris! That Barn Swallow had to be just about close enough that you could have reached out and grabbed it!
Hard to pick a favorite; I've simply never seen such a close-up, yet sharp and clear photo of a Barn Swallow. On the other hand, Cedar Waxwings are just about my favorite songbird--they are so regal looking, it's hard NOT to love a photo of them.
And that first Osprey shot--Wowie Kazowie!

Kris, great shots. I always like the osprey shots of yours where the bird is staring straight at you, or, at least, appears to be as in #2. Probably wondering what that crazy photog is doing out in this crummy weather. :biggrin-93:

Dayumnnnnnnn. SWEETNESS!!!!
I feel like I want to see that lens on the D800. Man o Man. I'm with Runnah, I want one really really bad. Could be my new dream lens instead of the 300 2.8 II.

Wow.

As you know I'm about 10 miles south of the MD line on the Eastern Shore. I saw a pair in flight last week at one of my fishing holes. It was dusk and I failed to get a decent shot but they were a treat to watch!

Kris: I really enjoy this set, even if the sunlight was scarce!

Anyone want to buy a tamron?

I am blown away by the contrast, color and sharpness.
