3 an 4 are my favorites. The background in the 1st two seems to be very blown out(I'm still a newbie, so dont take my advice) What a cutie!

I like how the hill shape of the ground stands out against the sky... It's not a nice pretty blue sky but it was raining! I also love the splashing in the water! Looks like fun. It's pouring here in east TX too.

#2 fill flash...
#3 ok.. but the eyes are so dark there is no detail, no catchlight...
#4 vertical ... too much dead space
#5 meh for the viewer... no eye contact.. no real interest for anyone not emotionally invested...

These are all pretty nice! Well done.

The umbrella is a bit of an eye-hurter. Have you done anything to make it pop more? Cuz, holy cow, is it EVER popping. #4 is marvelous, but possibly I like it because it doesn't have that infernal umbrella

The colors feel a little odd to me. Did you just correct white balance to get the white spots on the umbrella perfectly white? It feels too warm to be a rainy day, but not warm enough to be a sunny day after the rain. I feel like you should let the white balance go one way or the other from "correct" to sell the light as one or the other -- right now it feels a little unreal, like these were shot on a sound stage or something. Is that making any sense?

Thank you! I love critique like this I didn't do anything to the umbrella, or anything to increase saturation. I am thinking that it is probably more glowing because we shot at around 11 and the sun was just lighting it up so much. I am going to go back and see if I can take some of the brightness down. I think I did slightly warm the photo up (for skin tone issues rather than getting the spots white). But I do see what you mean about it being too warm for a rainy day so I will adjust that as well. Thanks again for your critique!

1 works for me. I really like the blow out. It really creates some defined shapes in the hill and umbrella. You took a sky that most of us would have struggled to fight against and made it work for you. 4 is also cute but 1 really makes it for me.
